And I'll be there. ...at summer. With a camera. Hopefully there'll be lots more fun pictures soon, who knows!

I fucking love Velvia!

It's so badass. I just got a bunch of scans in from my Florida trip that I shot with my thirty-year old mechanical Olympus OM-1 and my 50mm f/1.4 lens, the only lens I have for it, and I like the shots a /ton/ better than what I got with digital capture. The colors are just wild without looking artificial, and challenging High Dynamic Range stuff is a snap. I could go on forever, but yeah. Let's go ahead and re-enforce Ken Rockwell's "The Camera Doesn't Matter" with these shots.

I got my 40D!

And it kicks ass. Canon users (read: people who own canon cameras but spend all their time on forums) are sweating over the Nikon D300, but I'm not too worried - competition can only be good for everyone who uses SLR's! If you want the competition to suck, you're going to end up with exorbitant prices on your crappy-quality SLR's. Hopefully with the entrance of the D3 we'll be able to see the price of full frame digital cameras drop dramatically in the next couple years.

I don't envy the high res LCD or the auto ISO or the 51 autofocus points. I /do/ wish Canon would give us a multi-spot meter tied to your current AF point like the D200 can - but that's mostly a concern for concert photography. Guess I'll have to sell my earthly possessions and the clothes off my back and buy a 1Ds Mk III if I want one of those - for now, I'm sticking to my new baby.

If you're a photographer and you see my stuff around and you want me to take a look at yours, leave a comment or favorite something! I'm not often around, so if you want to grab my attention it's best to... do something attention-getting. If your stuff's good I'll take the time to critique, comment, favorite, whatever.

Is anyone else loving the black and white conversion in CS3? It's so slick.

Greetings, Deviants!

Remember Everydaysoul? No? Whatever. I've taken my time off to refine my tastes and talents, and I've decided I'm most into music and journalistic photography. I'm making money now as a professional photographer, so I must be doing *something* right.

I like black and white, so expect to see plenty of black and white works. I do a minimum of manipulation where possible but I don't mind minor touchups or effects.

My Dearly Beloved is the Canon 70-200 f/2.8 IS USM, with which most of these pictures are made.

That's enough of an introduction - expect to see some pretty cool stuff on here in time.
